What’s a Galley Proof?

Hey sweet friends! You all are more dear to me than you could possibly know! Not sure how cyberspace can link the Jesus love that flows in and through us but it just does!

SO, come here….come closer. Yeah – you. I’ve got something SOOO uber cool to share with you.

Now, I’d like to act all professional – like I’ve got my “author” suit and hat on and know all about that stuff, but you know me better than that. It’s just me, real and raw and about as goofy as they come.

But I couldn’t wait to tell you sweet ladies that I got my Galley Proof in! Don’t know what that is? Me neither! Well, I didn’t really know what it was ’til I opened the link.

It’s my book! You know, my Bible study on Ecclesiastes! The one I’ve been waiting for, for awhile – for a long while! OKAY, so the real thing is not out yet, but the galley proof is what goes to the author before the final product. The publishers send it out for final revisions and then we get to finally see the real deal!

How cool is that! It won’t be long ladies and it will be on a book shelf near you!

Of course, I can’t leave the post without drawing a spiritual parallel. I realize there may be several, but let’s stick with the obvious.

When we truly give our lives to Christ, we become new creations. We begin a journey in which we are consistently editing our lives in response to the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Putting in and taking out those things necessary to conform us to the image of Christ.

It’s like we’re the galley proof awaiting that final day when we’ll be shelf ready.

Oh, we’ve been accepted in the Beloved and have a signed and sealed contract of the Divine kind…but right now, we’re in the Author’s hands and He is in the process of changing us from glory to glory.

One day we’ll be the final product – but right now, we’ve got some editing to do – we’re a galley proof.

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” 1 John 3:2-3

So, how ya doing on editing your life, sweet friend? Are you bound and determined to keep something in the book of your life that really needs to go in order to be shelf ready?

Oh, by the way…The Scripture Dig team has been featuring our favs from each other’s personal sites. This week, they’ve been highlighting my site and it’s been fun to see which posts they each picked as their favorite. I’d love for you to pop over there and let me know which one is your fav. πŸ™‚

  6. I am so glad to hear this great news! Cindy and I have been impatiently waiting so we can do this study with our ladies. Obviously it was not God's timing for us to do it this summer as we'd hoped. We'll do it as soon as we can and we want to have a special guest speaker! You'll love our ladies!

  7. This is great news! Great for you! Great for us! Everyone! I am so looking forward to this to study with some ladies in a small group. Gonna get a new one this fall! YeeHa!

  8. Tanyia ~ Thanks friend! I'm excited, but I'm really anxious to see how God is going to use this book I never planned to write. Only He can move us to pursue a direction that we don't even understand and then bring it to pass like that. So, I can't wait to see the “why” behind the call to write it!

    Love ya, girl!
