God’s Promise for You – Hope

GOOD MONDAY MORNING! I hope you had a fantabulous weekend of worship with your local forever family! I sure did!
I just love singing the praises of the Great I AM with the ones I’m going to spend eternity with. Imagine right now, sweet friend, what it’s going to be like when we all gather together at our Savior’s feet forever worshipping the King of kings and the Lord of lords!

God’s Promise for You Today is
HOPE
And today, I’m going to do something a bit different. My friend, Shelley Hendrix, over at Church4Chicks, asked me to do a short video on Hope for a series they’re going through in Atlanta. So, since I’ve been doing a series on His promises for us and since HOPE seems to be a common conversational thread these days, I thought I’d just share with you the message I did for her and the sweet ladies at Church4Chicks.

By the way, if you’re in the Atlanta area, be sure to join them. Here’s some info about when and where they meet from Church4Chicks’ website to tell you more about their new series and how you can be part of what God is doing there!
“Fall Teaching Series “Hope Changes Everything!”  begins on September 27 and will meet each Tuesday evening (6:15 p.m. for optional “Chick Chat.” 7-8:15 p.m. for Main Event) through November 15 at Town Center Community Church, 1040 Blackwell Road, Marietta, GA.”
So, now without further adieu’, here’s Hope for the Hurting Heart

(If you can’t view the video in your feeder, please click on the following link… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zo30xiZ1Rz8 )
Are you being held captive by any painful past experiences that would hinder you in your journey to joy? Are you allowing your past to define your present and ruin your future?
Have you given the ashes of your life to Jesus and allowed Him to make something beautiful out of them or are you holding on to them like a security blanket?
Does hope in Christ define your life or do you allow your past experiences or your cirucmstances to define you?

  1. Stephanie, 1) you need to do more videos ;-); 2) Hearing your story, I am in continuous awe of God's power and mercy and grace. I'm reminded this morning that the healing you (and I) have experienced and, for me, continue to experience, is available to EVERYONE. But, it must be longed for. Desired. Sought after. I had spent 35 years of my life coping with my past. It was a trait that I learned at the age of 6 when I was told I couldn't cry or talk even about my mom (whom I had just lost) without being severely disciplined. Each moment of abuse, neglect and rejection after that just built on that skill. I was a “coping” pro. 😉 I didn't realize how broken I was. I was even in ministry, speaking at ladies' events, not realizing how broken I was. I was fine. What I didn't realize at the time, was that God never intended for His daughters to just cope. He intends for His daughters to be WHOLE and FREE. My healing began the moment I gave the Holy Spirit permission to shine HIS light into every area of my life that needed to be dealt with. I realized that any area kept in darkness could not be brought under the healing power of Christ. And, the Holy Spirit began to reveal to me the deeply broken areas of my life. I longed to be whole in Him. I sought it. I reached for the HOPE that I knew He promised me. And, I walk in that hope now. 😉 And, what was “my” story all those years of sharing with ladies, is now “God's story” of healing and redemption. Praise HIS Holy name!

  2. Shelly ~ Thanks. I had to hurry through that one. My computer was having issues, so I had to borrow my hubby's really quickly and get it back to him.

You and I have some similar threads running through our lives. That's for sure. It seems as though the Lord is still healing scars I didn't even know I had.

Thanks for popping in and sharing!
