A Word from the WORD – He Knows You

So the Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord12 Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.” Exodus 4:11-12 (NKJV)

I love to read the story of Moses’ call. When God called Him to go toe to toe with Pharaoh, he didn’t pull back his robe and bravely display a big red “S” on his well hidden Superman costume.

Instead, he wanted to tuck his tail and run.

But I can’t speak well. I’m not able. I’m not enough. I’m not…

We all have felt like Moses before. God calls us to the impossible and we cower under the weight of our own inadequacies. Certainly God could use a better, more equipped candidate than us!

But God know us. He knows our limitations and knows our flaws and failures.

He doesn’t call us in spite of our pasts and our problems…He calls us in light of them.

He isn’t surprised that we fall oh-so short of what He is calling us to. He isn’t put off by our imperfections.

We may feel incapable or unworthy, but the Lord wouldn’t call us to that which He will not do through us.

Philippians 2:13 tells us, for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”

If you struggle with doing what God calls you to do, remember…He knows you. He is not calling you because you wear a big “S” on your shirt, He is calling you because it is His plan for you life and He wants to do in you and through you so that He gets the glory.

He calls us to live beyond ourselves so that He can do the impossible for us and through us…and the world will stand back and say, “Your God is real.”

What are you struggling with today? Do you feel inadequate or unworthy?
