A Word from the WORD – He Yearns for You

Or do you suppose that the Scripture is speaking to no purpose that says, The Spirit Whom He has caused to dwell in us yearns over us and He yearns for the Spirit [to be welcome] with a jealous love?” James 4:5 (Amplified)

I remember watching the movie The Invisible Man and thinking how cool it would be to be invisible. You could go anywhere and do anything and no one would see you. You could even play some pretty funny practical jokes on people and they would never know who did it.

But in the real world, invisible isn’t cool. It’s painful.

Have you ever felt invisible? Like you’re in a room full of people yet no one sees you? Or like you’re in the middle of a conversation with someone and they are looking right past you as if you aren’t even there?

I know I have!

We live in a world where we are ignored, overlooked and forgotten. And while the goal is not about being noticed, it hurts to feel like people see right through you as if you don’t exist.

Life is often like that. Others can make us feel inferior and invisible.

But we never escape the eye of God…not even for a second. He not only sees us, He is intimately involved in the deepest details of our lives. He knows us from the inside out. He knows our deepest fears and our greatest desires. He understands our insecurities and is well acquainted with our biggest dreams.

We are never invisible to Him.

He jealously watches over us. His eye is always on us. He not only delights in us, He sings over us.

Today, you may feel invisible to those you love and to the world, but don’t lose heart…you are the apple of His eye and if His eye is on the sparrow, then you know He watches you.

How about you? Have you ever felt invisible? Did you need to know that today?

  1. Steph,

I have felt like this so much in my life that now I have grown to expect it.

I cannot tell you the last time I felt accepted.

Great Post. Had never really thought about it.

  2. Dolores,

It's so easy to get lost in the busyness of everyone else's life that they don't even see us. I'm so thankful we not only never escape His view, but that our God constantly has His eye on us! 🙂

  3. Thank you for the encouragement Steph..I appreciate you Bunches!! 🙂
