MY TURN:

These two chapters are SO rich with instruction about how we should live, what our lives should look like, and how we should be imitators of God.

In Ephesians 5:2, we’re called to WALK IN LOVE. We are imitators of God when we love well…loving the unlovable, loving when we’ve had a rough day, and loving those who don’t deserve it.

In Ephesians 5:8, we’re called to WALK IN THE LIGHT, with an sweet reminder to remember who we were before Christ. We were darkness. But now we are light. Imitate God by walking in the light.

In Ephesians 5:15, we’re called to WALK WISELY, redeeming the time. We can’t relive the moments of our lives, so we need to live each one wisely.

In Ephesians 5:22, we move into marriage. How a husband should treat his wife. How a wife should treat her husband. And the supreme example of Christ’s love for the church and the picture our marriages should paint for a world in need of Christ.

In Ephesians 6:1, we take a look at how kids should behave with a sweet reminder of God’s promise to those who honor their parents.

In Ephesians 6:5, we venture into the relationship with bondservants and masters. In modern day terms, employees and employers.

And finally, in Ephesians 6:10 – 18, God graciously gives us the tools to stand strong in the faith. The Armor of God. Most days, I get up in the morning and put the armor of God on. I’m not strong enough to do this life on my own and I don’t want to pretend like I am. I need the strength that comes from the Lord to carry me through.

You can pray it on too! Try it!

The belt of truth ~ To know truth. To live out truth. To tell the truth. To not be deceived by a lie.

The breastplate of righteousness ~ To guard you heart. To walk in righteousness. To do what is right even when no one is looking.

The shoes prepared to share the Gospel of peace ~ Always ready to share the Gospel and going where God calls us to go to tell others about the salvation and hope found in Jesus Christ.

The shield of faith ~ Protecting yourself from the fiery darts of the enemy by strengthening your faith.

The helmet of salvation ~ To think like someone who is saved should think, protecting your mind, and keeping yourself from confusion.

The sword of the spirit ~ The WORD of GOD! It’s the only offensive weapon we have. I pray I know it well, will always have a passion for it and will know how to use it when the battle is raging and my heart is faint.

Praying always ~ Prayer is constant conversation and communion with God. It’s the glue that holds all those other pieces of armor together.

So, pray on, sweet friend…and stand strong!

Today, Jesus wants to use you for His Kingdom’s work!

So, get that armor and get busy!

We’ve got a world to win!
