My ONE Word ~ FOCUS (What’s Yours?)

Every year, many of us pray about ONE thing God wants for us in the coming year. ONE word that would describe what we believe God is leading us to do or wants to do in us, through us, or for us.

Two years ago, the Lord led me to contemplate the word MORE. MORE became my one word for 2012.

I didn’t understand why at the time. MORE can cover a whole lot of territory! So, as I sought God’s face for what it was He wanted me to discover about MORE, He peeled back the layers of Scripture in a way I had not seen before and it wasn’t long before I developed a three to four message MORE Conference from that year at His feet and in His word in search for more about MORE.

God taught me a lot that year and what I learned about MORE will stick with me for the rest of my life! It’s also a principle in Scripture that I love to share at retreats and conferences.

  • MORE of God
  • MORE from God
  • MORE for God

He certainly is the God of the exceedingly, abundantly! He is the God of MORE!

This year, God has me focused on FOCUS! It’s my one word for the year and I look forward to discovering the fulness of why He seems to have chosen FOCUS for me in 2014.

How about you? What is YOUR one word for 2014? Do you have one? Have you prayed about it yet?

  1. My word for 2014 is glory and glorify. I already have a book proposal prepared on glorifying God so I’m eager to see how the Lord will speak to me about this topic as I concentrate on it. May your 2014 Stephanie be a wonderful blessing! Happy New Year!

    • I LOVE ‘Glory’ and ‘Glorify’, Kathy! Im sure the Lord will speak volumes to you throughout 2014 about those words! πŸ™‚

      Happy New Year!

  2. Interesting, my word this year is also “focus”. For me that means four things:
    1. Focus on taking care of me physically, mentality and emotionally
    2. Focus on a deeper relationship with Christ
    3. Focus on building a stronger bond with my immediate family
    4. Focus on doing the best I can at work and not allow people to pull me in ten different directions.

I have this word everywhere to remind me to stay “focus” keep my eyes on Christ and He will direct me!

    • Awesome Shelly! I love that! My focus is in specific areas too. The Lord is honing in on some areas in my life that I really need to “FOCUS” on, so this is the year and this is the time to do it! πŸ™‚
