Houston, We Have a Problem – When your book launch is like the Apollo 13

In 1970 the Apollo 13 launch was seemingly a seamless launch! A well planned, thoroughly prepared thing of beauty that had spectators amazed and the whole country was cheering them on.

And then something went terribly wrong.

An oxygen tank exploded and crippled the ill-fated flight. After dealing with the immediate and obvious dangers of the explosion, James Lovell contacted NASA and uttered these famous words, “Houston, we have a problem.”

Thankfully, they were able to land, but they never were able to fulfill their goal.

On Monday, The Making of a Mom launched with a seemingly seamless launch. It was well planned, thoroughly prepared and I was so excited about all the sweet partners in ministry who not only have been cheering it on, but have been part of the launch team.

And then something went terribly wrong.

Two days later I began receiving emails from those who had pre-ordered The Making of a Mom and each one informed me that they received an email from Amazon that The Making of a Mom was NOT IN PRINT.

Oh yes… HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!

EVERY PRE-ORDERD book that was ordered before and even on July 14th was lost in the shuffle of switching publishers from Regal to Revell.

It turns out that the books you sweet friends pre-ordered under the Regal brand and Regal’s ISBN will not be shipped because it now no longer exists. It’s now under Revell and has a new ISBN and even a new website link. And I have no way to know who pre-ordered, or how many or how to get in touch with those who did.

SOOOO… what’s a girl to do when her book launch gets lost in the Amazon shuffle?

Ask for help. The only answer can be to ask YOU to help!

I’m asking you to help this launch fulfill its mission. If you pre-ordered The Making of a Mom on or before July 14th, please cancel that order on THIS AMAZON LINK (which says, “Out of print”) and order your new book on THIS AMAZON LINK (which is the new Revell link).

You ladies know my heart is to reach a million moms for Christ and I’m so sorry for the inconvenience!

AND IF YOU COULD HELP GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT THE PREORDERS AND ABOUT THE MAKING OF A MOM, YOU KNOW I WOULD BE SO SUPER GRATEFUL!

The enemy may be hard at work to prevent us from reaching a MILLION MOMS, but we are in this together and we know the Lord has already won the victory, so I’m walking in that victory He died to give us!

I know what the enemy means for evil, God uses for good and that Romans 8:28 is real and true and reliable.

How about you? What do you do when you have to say, “Houston, we have a problem?”
