Wondering How You Can Know God and Have Peace with Him?
God loves you and has a plan for you life. He wants you experience peace and purpose. But because we are sinners by nature and by choice, we are separated from God. Our sin separates us from God and prevents us from having peace with Him. Jesus is the only solution to our problem. He died on a cross so that He could pay for our sins. Three days later, He rose from the grave. Through His death, He paid the debt we couldn’t pay. Through His resurrection, He demonstrated His power to conquer death, defeat the grave and forever justify those who place their faith in Him as Lord and Savior.
Wondering How You Can Receive Christ?
- Admit you are a sinner in need of forgiveness (Romans 3:23, “23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 6:23, “23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”)
- Be willing to turn from your sins, believing that Jesus died for you on the cross and rose from the grave (Acts 26:20b, “repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, “3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” Romans 10:9, “9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”)
- Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and be your Savior while surrendering your heart to Him as Lord (Romans 10:13, “13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”)
If you’ve just done this, please email me. I’d love to send you some material to help you begin your journey of faith.
And as soon as you possibly can, connect with a Bible believing church. They will help you grow in your faith and encourage you in your daily walk with God.
Please Steph how me understand and know god and understand him when he is silent
Oh how difficult the silence can be sweet friend. The silence of God never equals the absence of God… nor does it mean He is inactive. He is always working behind the scenes of our lives weaving together something good, even when things seem so bad. I think one of the most difficult things we face is when our faith collides with painful situations and we aren’t sure where God is and if He is there, why would He allow us to go through such difficult times. We don’t have all the answers this side of heaven. So much of what we go through test our faith and cause us to wonder where God is… and if He is there, does He care? Yet, when we realize this life is not only about this life… it is about eternity, it helps walk through those hard places with our faith in tact and peace in our hearts.
I will come back and share more this evening as I pray about how to best encourage your faith sweet friend. I’m at work, but I will be back. I just wanted you to know that I am praying for you today… that you sense a holy hug from Heaven and know that God is good even when life is hard.
As I was looking at several Scriptures, I was reminded that so any of God’s people went through a serious season of silence. David cried out many times for God to hear him, to work on his behalf…to show up and help him. God can take your honest questions… “Where are You God?” – David asked that too. “Why don’t You do something?” – David asked that too. “Help me!” – David asked that too.
It’s okay to ask those hard questions. He invites you to confide in Him… to hide in Him. He is there and He cares. Run to Him. Cling to Him. Lean in to Him. He is there. And you haven’t escaped His view for a second.
My husband of 45 years of marriage passed away 7 months ago, my brother-in-law was diagnosed a month after, with Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer. Now my middle son is having trouble because of child support and is angry. That anger brought him to get in trouble with the law. Now he might go to jail.
Oh goodness! So much! Praying with you and for you and for your brother-in-law and your son. God is able. Keep pressing in, trusting Him and finding your rest and refuge in His love!
Steph please help me to connect to God, I need God to know I believe in Him, I need Him to know I pray for my children that I pray for my husband and my family. Please help me how to connect with God. So much is happening I will really appreciate Him to come in and give solutions.
Gabi, I’m so sorry I’m just seeing this! I know life can be so tough and the things we go through can be so hard, but God has a plan for your life and it is good. He loves you SO much that He sent His Son to the cross so that you could have eternal life and also an abundant life. It’s not that life becomes easy when you come to know Him, but He is with you through every difficult season and He alone can bring beauty out of ashes and weave together something good out of something bad.
The first step to experiencing all God has for you is to surrender all you are to Him. Call upon Him to be Lord of your life and Savior of your soul believing that Jesus’ death on the cross was for you and for your sins and that He rose from the grave and is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven.
Then dive into God’s Word. He has every answer for every question of the human heart right there in His Word. Two good places to start are in the Gospel of John and then read the book of James. (Both are in the New Testament)
And also be sure to follow in your first step of Christian obedience by being biblically baptized. Biblically baptized means immersed. It’s symbolic of dying to your old self and raising to newness of life.
And you will also want to be part of a vital, Bible teaching church and grown together with other believers.
I hope you’ll do these things and if you need any help or encouragement, please be sure to let me know. Praying for you now!
I would like you to pray for my daughter. She is going to a really difficult time. I also need prayer so that God can guide me on how to help her in the situation she is in. I know God will make a way, cause He always do.
Oh Erna! I know your heart is heavy for your daughter and I am praying with you for her and can’t wait to hear how Jesus shows up! Pray on sweet mom! God is listening and working behind the scenes of your daughter’s life, even when you can’t see anything happening!
