Hi sweet friends! I’m taking a quick break from my “Promise for the Day” posts to introduce you to Lori Chelf! She’s a sweet lady who loves God and God’s girls and is beginning to take baby steps into the world of cyberspace.
Lori is beginning a new series called “Dressing for Success” on her blog and I know you’re going to love it – and her!
Please pop over to her website and tell her “Welcome” to cyberspace!
I love that God gives us more voices to tell people about Jesus and the victory that is ours when we follow Him!
Lori’s Bio:
Lori Chelf is the author of WomenSharingJesus.com – a blog that encourages women to always be accessorized, not necessarily with gold and fine jewels but with good deeds that show God’s love in practical ways to the people in their everyday lives. More personally, she is a marketing professional, Church Outreach Director, wife to a loving husband and mother to three teenagers. She loves the Lord but especially loves encouraging women to reach out and genuinely love others as He has loved us.
New Series Intro: Dressing for Success
Attire that Attracts (posted last week)
We’ve all heard the term dressing for success. As women we know what looks good on us, but what about the spiritual attire that shows off His best features? Sure we may accessorize with “good deeds,” but every woman knows that an accessory is of little use if it isn’t coordinated with the outfit.
This series will focus on being clothed with “attractive attire” – the kind of attire that catches the eye and draws the attention of others to His righteousness in us. Sisters…we’re talking about a wardrobe of victory – the most precious of material, highest in quality, made by the great designer Himself. It’s a Versace and Armani wardrobe of Godly attire. And no need to worry about a proper fit. It’s one size fits all!
First Post:
What’s Love Got to do With It? (I’m posting this on my blog on Thursday)
“And the most important piece of clothing you must wear is love. Love is what binds us all together in perfect harmony.” (Colossians 3:14 NLT)
Of all the attire that will be featured in this series, our first garment is the piece de resistance . Love is a must-have for every wardrobe. It is not a showy garment. It’s a garment that chooses to put others above self (Phil 2:1-8); one that reveals His sacrificial love for us all. And when worn properly, others are attracted to its beauty.
Comprised of the Most Precious of Threads
It’s a garment intricately woven with the threads of patience, kindness, contentment, modesty, humility, politeness, unselfishness, calmness, forgiveness, hopefulness, trustworthiness, perseverance and faithfulness (see 1 Cor 13:4-8).
A Thing of Beauty
A garment of love is beautiful and attractive to those around us because:
- It excludes no one. “‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matt 22:39
- it is expressed through service. “…serve one another in love.” – Gal 5:13
- It seizes the moment. “…be prepared in season and out of season…”- 2 Tim 4:2″
- It reflects His perfect love for us. “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. – Jn 15:13″
Tailored to Fit
No worries about it being too long, too short, too big, or too small. We can wear it confidently because it is tailored to each of our unique shapes. Some wear it as a well-organized, hard-working garment of service to others; some wear it as a loyal, faithful and trusted friend – the one constant in that person’s tumultuous life; some wear it as an enthusiastic and creative garment of fun and some wear it as the quiet practical garment of a listening ear.
Whatever your particular shape, wear your garment with confidence and be His love fashionista this week! It is guaranteed to look good on you!
