1. Sit down with your children and write “Thank You” cards to every family member and every friend who will be at dinner. Have your children write their own cards. Exchange them before you eat dinner on Thanksgiving Day.
2. Read the Thanksgiving story on Thanksgiving Day and teach your children why we really celebrate this festive and filling holiday.
3. Use this week to make a “Thank You” list to Jesus. Have your children make their own list. Think about the big and small things you have been blessed with and write it down. During Thanksgiving dinner, pass your list to the person next to you and let them read through you “Thank You” list. Have them put a check next to the things they are thankful for too. Before you all go to sleep, spend some time in prayer going over each list, naming each thing you’re thankful for out loud.
