It’s About Abiding

Have you ever looked around and noticed those super saints who seem to wear halos on their heads and seem to always say and do the right things.

I want to be like that when I grow up, don’t you?

When I ask those who seem to walk with God and have it all together, I find that there is one common thread among them all.

They ABIDE in CHRIST.

They bear much fruit because they ABIDE in CHRIST.

They handle life well because they ABIDE in CHRIST.

They walk in the Spirit because they ABIDE in CHRIST.

They don’t collapse under the weight of their circumstances because the ABIDE in CHRIST.

They don’t let their past pain or present heartaches win the battle of their mind because they ABIDE in CHRIST.

They don’t seemed rushed or rigid because they ABIDE in CHRIST.

They admit when the make a mistake because they ABIDE in CHRIST.

They understand their position in Christ and walk in victory because they ABIDE in CHRIST.

They aren’t perfect people. They aren’t even super saints. They simply understand how imperfect they are and how much they need the Lord…and so they ABIDE in CHRIST.

And their lives beckon me to do the same.

How about you?

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.” John 15:1-8
