I love to breathe in every destiny-changing and memory-making moment of Christmas. The sacred event that literally changed everything has a way of changing me every year.
Carefully adorning the tree with trinkets to remind us of what the season is all about, I inhale what it all means and am left breathless. The unspeakable, unequaled gift of His presence. The One who is I AM beckons all who will, to believe, to be His, to experience what real, abundant life looks like in this flesh and blood existence.
Jesus never ceases to wow me. Never has. Never will. That He would come for me keeps me wide-eyed with wonder.
That baby in a manger has a way of hushing every hustling heart.
Because it wasn’t just any baby born to this raging world. It was the Savior who willingly willed Himself to come. To live. To love. To die. To rise. To save.
Christmas comes and goes, but the One who is I AM is eternal. He very existence gives us reason to celebrate every day like it was Christmas…a celebration of who He is and what He has done.
And so we pause for Christmas and begin planning for an intentional new year. With wishes, and dreams, and goals, and plans.
We blink and the years pass us by like wind whipping through our hair. Swift and messy. Life has a way of doing that, ya know? Slipping by without us even realizing it.
But I don’t want that to happen this year. Do you? I want to be much more intentional about making a difference and fulfilling God’s will for my life in 2018.
After all, none of us are here to just take up space.
We’re here to love…
To enjoy new adventures and conquer our fears…
To soak in the moments and celebrate life…
To make a difference for Christ and glorify the Lord…
To leave a legacy of faith worth following…
So, breathe in slow and steady glimpses of grace as you pause for Christmas…and don’t get anxious about planning your 2018 year out.
Take time to enjoy precious moments with your family and friends. Schedule time to rest, relax, and reflect.
Be sure to love and laugh and live each day you’ve been gifted with.
And then intentionally make it a priority of every day to glorify God and make a difference for Christ as you leave a legacy of faith worth following.
I’m here. Cheering you on! But oh-so more importantly is the sweet truth that the Lord is cheering you on. He’s longing to see you long for Him, live for Him, and raise us the next generation to do the same. He sees you, loves you, and is even singing over you.
Oh sweet friend… do you imagine, like me, what He’s singing now?
