Why we should embrace the small as if it was big

It’s not always as easy to embrace the small as it is to bask in the big… especially in a world that beckons us to the grand. But obedience and faithfulness is obedience and faithfulness no matter the size or shape of God’s call. Sometimes we embrace the small on our way to the big. Sometimes we embrace the small never expecting the big. But always embrace the small as if it is big because God is in it all.

Don’t forget…some of those we admire most were content to embrace the small.

Moses embraced a staff (Exodus 4:2)

David embraced a sling shot (1 Samuel 17:49)

A little boy embraced his small lunch as something Jesus could use (John 6:9)

Zechariah 4:10 says…

“For who has despised the day of small things? But these seven will be glad when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel–these are the eyes of the LORD which range to and fro throughout the earth.”

1 Corinthians 1:27-29 tells us…

“but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong”

Have you been despising the small things? Feeling insignificant in the mundane?

How can I pray for you today?
